Who or what first introduced you to sailing?
My best friend at school took me on a "try a boat day" at Spinnaker Lake in 1993. Hooked, we both bought Toppers and played on summer Sundays for a few years.
What item of sailing kit could you not do without at sea?
My Gill hiking pants!
What is the longest passage you have done (without stops)?
longest day on the water was at Palma 2001 when we were 10 hours waiting for the wind which filled in after 8hrs so we got 2 races in!..
Who do you most admire in sailing?
All who put normal life on hold to pursue their dreams.
What is your worst sailing memory?
Being cut out of the 2008 British Olympic Trials!..
What, if anything, have you learned from your experiences sailing?
The learning never stops!..
In sailing, what do you most want to achieve?
To win an Olympic Medal!..
What is your favourite sailing venue(s) and why?
Dominican Republic - the most exhillerating waves ever & it's the Carribien,
What is your favourite boat(s) and why?
The Europe. It is so refined, delicate & responsive.. I loved every day I spent sailing it.
Offshore or inshore and why?
inshore.. I like my home comforts at the end of the day.
What is your best sailing memory?
Winning the 2004 Olympic Trials.
What is the fastest you have sailed and on what boat was it?
Not very.. I sail slow boats!..
