This arrived in my In box from John Bird – an exciting event and all in a good cause:

I am organising a Charity Sail (C.S) around the
Solent on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th October 2010, in aid of the Roy
Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, based in Liverpool. Why not come and join
in the fun (experienced and non experienced crew/individuals welcome).

Fairview Sailing, Hamble are the administrative committee for this event
and we are doing all we can to entice people to take part.
The C.S is open to all individuals (you will be put on a Fairview yacht
with other experienced and non experienced sailors), private yachts
(26ft+) and charter boats (preferably through Fairview Sailing).

There is a Black Tie Ball on Saturday 16th October in the Royal Southern
Yacht Club, Hamble. All details are on the website.

- Speaker from the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation (Rosemary Gillespie
- Chief Executive)
- Presentation for the Saturdays racing
- Charity Auction
- Band (Kojaks Revenge).

I would really appreciate it if you could spread the word, I am looking
for at least 30+ boats on the water. I provisionally have 19 so far.
