“Took my boat to the Folly Inn with a new crew on a Little Ship Club boat handling rally. I think it was less about teaching the crew boat handling and more about me practising being a skipper. There's so much to learn. I spent far too much time doing the pre-rally briefing that we were late leaving and miised our rendevous in Osbourne Bay. By that time the wind was gusting well over 20 knots, which for a new skipper with a novice crew, one of which was sick was a little daunting. So we downed sail, on with the engine, did a few boat hopping exercises and escaped into the relative tranquility...”
