The Scanmar 25 is a stylish sloop built in Sweden from 1976 until 1980. There were only approximately 50 of these handsome boats built. None were exported to the U.S. The rig is a 7/8 fractional rig with deck-stepped mast and swept-back spreaders. The boat has tiller steering and a transom-hung rudder. Just like the Maxiboats from this period, the boat's most notable feature is a large, smoke-tinted, fixed port set into either side at the edge of the hull, just above the rubber rubrail. The rubrail, which completely encircles the boat, serves to protect and disguise the hull-to-deck joint.
