This two-day course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and also meets the minimum requirements for the marine coastguards agency (MCA), International Certificate of Competence (ICC) for boats under 10m.
It includes close quarters handling, high speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations. You will learn about Launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside and man overboard and the second day will see you take a voyage to either Cowes (Isle of Wight), Beaulieu or Portsmouth.
The course is open to anyone 12 years or over. Under 16's will be issued with a certificate but with a requirement that they are accompanied by an adult while driving.
The course will be run in the clubs 4.5m rib.
