From the autumn of 2008, the duty rates on diesel are set to rise to above £1 per litre.
Green Marine Fuels are providing alternatives to using fossil fuels by introducing a network of Biodisel fuel outlets throughout the UK. Marinas can bulk purchase this fuel from August this year in advance of the price rises set to hit the market in November. Boat owners wishing to make their own fuel can obtain all the advice and support by contacting Green Marine Fuels by email at: consumersupport@green-marine-fuels.co.uk
A full information pack regarding all the FAQ will be available from May 2008.

From what I have read it seems that the lower cost of purchase and the emissions reductions are no more than about 20% in each case. Diverting food crops to the production of fuel is ultimately foolhardy. Isn't this all just a distraction from the real issue that we need to reduce our fuel requirements and invest in alternative methods of deriving energy for transport etc?
