TP52 Cristabella reborn in the Solent

Early February and Coiler needed to shake off some winter rust. An opportune meeting in HYS Port Hamble led to a blast around the Solent in the re-built Cristabella.

Thanks to Peter Harding and Chris Brown for the ride! Cobwebs away!

Comment from Co-owner-Chris Brown on the rebirth:

“From the start we chose to utilise industry leading consultants to plan and oversee the work, which included many system enhancements and structural re-inforcements for proper offshore use. Judel Vrolik, High Modulus System, Richard Faulkner Composites, Diverse Yacht Systems all worked together under the final approbation of David Hopkins CS and in late December ‘06 our reborn TP52 emerged to outside world. She now features on board technology previously only found on Americas Cup boats yet at the same time is robust enough for a RORC Fastnet !

Commissioning was undertaken by Radical Marine, who launched her in time for the planned test sail weekend on 3/4 February. There were grins all around as the boat whizzed around the Solent in 8-18kn TW with the speedo hitting 16kn and rarely below 10kn! These are great boats to sail and next we will decide what we are doing with the boat !!”
