Antigua Week which is in its 40th year will once again attract a world class fleet of boats and sailors and is set to be a fantastic event both on and off the water. Volvo Ocean Race winning skipper and ISAF World Sailor of the Year, Mike Sanderson will be at the helm with a selection of world class crew from around the world. The team will include ABN AMRO ONE and TWO crew as well as ABN AMRO shore team members.
The event starts on Sunday and will run until Friday 4th May. The racing will comprise of a variety of courses including inshore windward-leeward races and traditional round-the-island races. The final event will be an ocean race which will give the ABN AMRO crew the chance to show the boats true colours. With a competitive fleet in the racing division the crew members on ABN AMRO ONE are looking forward to a great week.
Mike Sanderson commented: “We have had a great time in the Caribbean with ABN AMRO ONE. A lot of people who would not have had the opportunity to see the boat and to sail onboard have been able to do so in the most beautiful settings. Antigua Sailing Week is always a great event and what a fantastic end to the Caribbean circuit for us. What we now need is a bit of wind and then we will be able to get going and show some pace.”
