New Dry Sailing Centre for Cowes

The new centre offers a Dry sailing service which allows boat owners to leave their boat at a secure facility and have it delivered to a convenient spot so they can simply step on board and cast off. On their return, they hand the boat back over and walk away -- as many times a year as they choose.

An alternative to expensive and crowded marinas is now available in Cowes thanks to the new Cowes Dry Sailing Centre at Clarence Yard.

The new centre offers a Dry sailing service which allows boat owners to leave their boat at a secure facility and have it delivered to a convenient spot so they can simply step on board and cast off. On their return, they hand the boat back over and walk away—as many times a year as they choose.

Roger Moore, owner of Buzzard Marine, noticed the lack of such facilities in Cowes and opened Cowes Dry Sailing at Clarence Yard, just two minutes upriver from Cowes harbour. They are now accepting bookings for flexible dry sailing primarily for RIBs and sportsboats. Winter storage is also available for motorboats and small yachts.

Cowes Dry Sailing will launch and retrieve your boat, putting it on a waiting pontoon. Just call up and say when you need the boat; then leave it on the pontoon when you’ve finished, and they will put it away – clean, with the engine flushed and the hull power-washed.

Monthly, seasonal or annual packages are available, with a range of services extending to complete preparation of the boat including fuel-up and providing hampers – even collecting the owners from the Red Jet if required. Prices start from £125 p/m LOA for 12 months (storage only).
