Team Holmatro has been busy with preparations to set off for the next iShares Cup event after having sailed their last successful race during the Bol d’Or Mirabaud last month. Two days before the cup Team Holmatro will be out on the water and train for the competition they are about the face. Andreas Hagara will be skippering the boat in Marseille and he expects: “Basilica is for sure the team to beat, but also Hilfiger and OC showed in Starnberg (last iShares Cup) their potential”. So we expect some exciting racing!

In round two of the iShares Cup Extreme 40 Sailing Series, the action will heat up on the Mediterranean, as the Extreme 40 fleet heads to the French port of Marseille. Based out of the Vieux Port and racing off Le Roucas Blanc beach, close enough for spectators to get a close up view of all the action, the iShares Cup, Marseille will see top international sailors Sébastien Josse and Ellen MacArthur join the six-boat foray. From 7-9 July the battle will continue for the overall iShares Cup trophy as some of the world’s best round the world, America’s Cup and Olympic discipline sailors attempt to steal valuable points from current series leader, Basilica.

For spectators the starts and mark rounding in the really short courses make these races incredibly interesting to watch and will be close racing until the finish line. We look forward to the next reports which we can expect from this Saturday.
