British Columbia Marine Trades Association

National Authority , Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

The BC Marine Trades Association (BCMTA) is the voice of the recreational marine industry in British Columbia. Working with other industry groups – including local, national and international – and all levels of government to provide a strong and consistent voice for the boating community, our mandate is to promote recreational boating in BC and to ensure a positive atmosphere of growth for all members. In addition to owning the Vancouver International Boat Show, the BCMTA actively pursues opportunities to promote boating in BC.

Established in the mid-1950s as a not-for-profit organization, BCMTA works to:

* Promote recreational boating in BC and keep the industry free of obstacles inhibiting growth.
* Represent the Association, its members and the industry to all levels of government.
* Actively seek promotional and business opportunities for our members.
* Facilitate the professional development of our members.

Our membership of almost 300 ranges from small owner/operated businesses to large, multinational corporations and are involved in all aspects of supplying the recreational marine industry.

As owners of the Vancouver International Boat Show (VIBS), we use the show to further promote boating as well as provide an excellent venue for our members to showcase their products and services.
