Viridian Sailing Center

Viridian Sailing Center is proud to announce our FOURTH Firecracker regatta. This year's winners will be crowned Texas State Aero Champions! This event continues to grow, and we hope you will join us again to race RS Aeros--one of the hottest one-design fleets in the United States. This year the event has been moved to September 19-20, 2020. Sign up by September 11 to get a free limited edition Firecracker Regatta hat!

The regatta is open to the following fleets: RS Aero 5, 7, and 9. A fleet will consist of at least three boats. Fleets will be scored separately unless less than three of a particular fleet register. Fleets may start together and be scored separately. Starts will be at the discretion of the PRO and will be outlined in Skipper's meeting.

If you are not a pass holder, you can charter an RS Aero from the VSC fleet for a charter fee of $100. All charter fees will be applied as a donation to the Viridian Sailing Center Foundation. This will be tax deductible. Viridian Sailing Center Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit organization registered in the State of Texas.

Late Registration will be conducted on Saturday, September 19, 2020 between 0800 and 0830 at the Sailing Center dock. All sailors are required to check in by 0900 on Saturday, even if the sailor pre-registered. Participants will receive a registration packet upon check-in.

Subject to the decisions of the Race Committee, eight or more races are scheduled. One completed race will constitute a regatta. All times are listed as Central Daylight Time, CDT.

If you are joining us from out of town, limited housing may be available on a first come first served basis. Please contact Jack Hattendorf.

All Viridian Sailing Center Aeros will be launched at the Sailing Center. For participants chartering a boat, please let us know the size of rig you would like to use upon registration. Dollies will be made available for launching.

Visiting boats can be launched at the sailing center if dollies will fit through the gate (we can fit an Aero dolly), at Viridian beach, or on the Viridian Ramp located on the Northwest corner of the lake. There is no security guard on site and the Viridian Sailing Center will not assume responsibility for property left on the premises. The Viridian dock will be the central meeting place for lunch and post regatta activities.

Restrooms will be available at the Regent Pavilion, located 50 yards east of the Lakeview Event and Conference Center (LECC).

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to during or after the regatta.

All competitors must sign a waiver prior to participating in the event.
